The Card King is a brand new event that will take the place after the Lost Kingdoms ends. In this guide, I am going to share with you how to play this game, which will be covering the game rules, gameplay and a few tips for players who want to maximize their chance of winning the game.
This event is by far one of my favorite mini games in Rise of Kingdoms that involves flipping the cards and matching them to get rewards as a Free-to-play player. If you have played a game like that before, then the Card King event should be familiar to you.
Without further ado, here’s how to play Card King in Rise of Kingdoms.
What is Card King Event?
Basically, the Card Event is a flip and match game. There can be up to 4 random decks and all of them come with various rewards, including the legendary commanders. Depending on which deck you pick, the commander on the top is what will be included in the game as commander sculptures.
You can get the following commanders from the Card King Event:
- Julius Caesar
- Mehmed II
- Genghis Khan
- Cao Cao
- Cleopatra VII
- Constantine I
- Alexander the Great
- Charles Martel
- El Cid
- Fredrick I
- Hannibal Barca
- Richard I
Though, getting these commander sculptures isn’t easy as you think it is going to be! Because there are some game rules you need to know first before you play the Card King event.
- Pick any deck with the commander you want to play. Prizes will include the commander you picked.
- There is a limited number of moves you can make, plan ahead.
- Flip two matching cards in a row to win rewards.
- Unsuccessful matching the cards will display as FREE at no extra cost to you.
- For each subsequent flipping card will cost you gems.
- You can give up your current match to reset progress, but will cost 1 shuffle.
- You can return to the events page if you want to pick a different commander — although will cost you 1 shuffle.
How to Play Card King
For some of the new players who are wondering how to play Card King in Rise of Kingdoms. I am going to show you how to play it visually. As you can see, you will start with 12 cards face up. These are the rewards you will get if you manage to match 2 cards in a row.
Once you accept it, tap on the shuffle button to start shuffling the cards. Now all the cards are faced down. You must tap on two cards to flip them. If both matches, you get the rewards.
Afterwards, you can either spend 300 gems to flip another 2 cards or tap on the shuffle button to shuffle the deck. As a F2P player, I don’t spend gems on this event. So I always shuffle it and flip the cards. Out of all 10 shuffles, I managed to get rewards 5 times which is pretty good (but didn’t manage to get any legendary commander sculptures yet.)
Useful Game Tips for Card King
In order to flip all the cards, you will have to spend 3,000 gems. Which is quite a bit hefty and clearly makes it a P2W event for spenders in Rise of Kingdoms. But if you are a F2P player, it doesn’t hurt to play Card King events. Because after all, you can still win rewards if you are lucky.
You get 10 free shuffles that can be used once you either match 2 cards or not without having to spend your gems. Getting legendary commander sculptures can be challenging to get from the Card King event. But they are not impossible to get.
