Background Information

Osman Gazi, also known as Osman I, was the leader of the Ottoman Turks and the founder of the dynasty that established and ruled the Ottoman Empire. After the death of his father in 1281, at which time Osman was just 23 years old, he took up the leadership of the Kayi Clan. Soon after, mercenaries from all over the Islamic world began streaming into his realm to join the fight against the Orthodox Empire.
In 1301, Osman successfully defeated a large Byzantine force and began putting pressure on Byzantine-controlled areas. This alarmed the Byzantines, who quickly fled the Anatolian countryside. Byzantium’s leaders were determined to prevent Osman from crossing into Europe and attempted to check his westward expansion.
Osman continued to press on, however, and soon captured the Byzantine city of Ephesus. This brought another massive, diverse influx of migrants, warriors, and adventurers into Ottoman territory. Osman was both a skilled commander and an able administrator.
He expanded his realm through policies of tolerance and cooperation with Greek Christians. The Greeks welcomed the order, stability, and security that Osman’s rule brought, which came at a time when the central administration in Constantinople was slowly falling into disarray.
Free from government interference, Greeks and Turks began to marry and create families, and eventually, a large number of Christians adopted the Muslim faith. Religious tolerance became the defining characteristic of the Ottoman Empire for the next 600 years.

Getting to know the skill set that Osman I has to offer is the most important part in our commander guide. Radiance of Bursa is a decent passive skill. Although, it requires that the troops under Osman I’s leadership attack a city for more than 30 seconds in order to gain a 15% attack bonus. In particular, the talent build that steers toward conquest will benefit the most from this passive skill due to improved defense and attack value.

Best Commander Pairs
Whether you are looking for a commander to pair with Osman I or not. This feature becomes available the moment you star your Osman I to Star Level 3. As I mentioned previously that this commander excels at nuking his enemies to rubble, there are plenty of good commanders that makes a great combo. Check out the best commander pairs below:
Julius Caesar

If you plan to roll your Osman I as the city conqueror commander. Pair him with Julius Caesar since he comes with skills which reduces the enemy’s defense and attack while fighting garrisons. Furthermore, he has active skill which will boost your troops’ attack and defense value that amplifies and transform into a powerful garrison nuke combo.
Julius Caesar also comes with troop capacity which will add another 15% more to overall army size. This combo is great if you want to do serious amount of damage and to effectively zero the enemy. However, if you don’t have Julius Caesar in your commander tab, go with Scipio Africanus for mixed army or Mehmed II for pure cavalry.
Genghis Khan

Believe it or not, Genghis Khan is a good secondary commander that makes pairing with Osman I worthwhile. Genghis Khan comes with an active skill which deals heavy damage. Best of all, it has a 30% chance to activate for free at no additional cost to rage. When you do this combo, you will get the best nuking pair out of all and everyone will tremble before you as you charge at them onto the battlefield.
While it is not possible to get Genghis Khan right away until the kingdom has aged more than 120 days, Baibars is a good alternative choice. You get to keep the march speed for doing a pure cavalry army as long as both commander only have cavalry. The PvP Nuke talent build works well with this combo.
Sun Tzu

If you are in favor of doing extra damage to multiple targets while boosting your overall active skill’s output. Then you should pair Sun Tzu with Osman I. The 20% increased damage for active skill definitely is a big push that will let you wreck havoc on the enemies.
Plus, if you play on the defensive side, this combo will work pretty well when fighting multiple targets. Sun Tzu will be able to rain damage on multiple targets while Osman I dishes out major punches on them. This combo works well with PvP field talent build.
Aethelflaed

If you are in need of a solid legendary commander for killing barbarians that will excel with mixed armies, Aethelflaed works surprisingly well with Osman I. She is well equipped with active skill that hits multiple targets and deals additional damage towards neutral units, which makes her one of the best peacekeeping commanders in the game for Free-to-Play players.
In this combo, Aethelflaed will take the role as the primary commander and Osman I as the secondary commander. This is because you will need Aethelflaed’s main peacekeeping talent build to function. One perk about this combo is that both covers each other in single and multiple targets.
Hannibal Barca

Another solid commander to pair with is Hannibal Barca. He is one of the best conquering commander in Rise of Kingdoms who also excels with mixed armies. When you do 3 or more armies, you get 10% bonus damage to all troops. Plus, he can heal troops when attacking garrisons and there is no timer on ti. Which means he has a chance to heal every second if you are lucky.
Whenever Hannibal activates his skill, your troops will do an additional 15% more damage and reduces enemy defense by 25% while doing moderate amount of damage. Given the nature that both Osman I and Hannibal Barca are excellent conquerors, they synergy wells together.
