The purpose of this overview guide is to help new and experienced players understand how to play Lancelot right and maximize strategic advantages.

Lancelot is an elite commander for Britain and is obtainable via sliver chests / golden chests. He isn’t exactly that powerful compared to Boudica , Richard I and Edward Woodstock. Although, starting off early in the game, Lancelot plays a critical role in providing military support. He is one of the fewest elite commander that boasts good march speed, damage reduction and offense capabilities.

To summon Lancelot, you will need to gather 10 Lancelot sculptures. Then go to the commander selection tab screen and click to summon him. Leveling him up is relatively easy to do so as there’s not much of experience requirement. So, without further ado let’s dive into our best Lancelot commander guide for beginners.

Best Lancelot Skills


In the next part of our commander guide, we will talk about Lancelot skills. Keep it in your mind that Advanced and Elite commanders only have 4 skills. While Epic and Legendary commanders have 5 skills. So the power difference which Lancelot gains isn’t significant enough for late games. Likewise, Lancelot is good for gaining quick power early in the game.

Quarrel
Quarrel ROK

Rage Requirement: 1000
Lancelot brandishes his sharp sword, dealing massive damage to a single target.

Upgrade Preview:
Direct Damage Factor: 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 / 600

Quarrel is an active skill that Lancelot uses to deal a moderate amount of damage. Good for causing heavy blows early in the game.

Knight of the Round Table
Knight of the Round Table ROK

Increases cavalry units march speed; increases the attack of cavalry units.

Upgrade Preview:
Cavalry March Speed Bonus: 1% / 2% / 3% / 4% / 5%
Cavalry Attack Bonus: 1% / 2% / 3% / 4% / 5%

Knight of the Round Table gives 5% march speed to cavalry and increases their attack by 5%. A nice flat bonus.

Forbidden Love
Forbidden Love ROK

When attacked, Lancelot has a 10% chance to reduce all damage taken on the next turn.

Upgrade Preview:
Damage Taken Reduced By: 10% / 15% / 20% / 30% / 40%

This passive skill is pretty good early in the game as it gives Lancelot a small chance to reduce damage taken by 40% on the next turn.

Battle of Sorrow
Battle of Sorrow ROK

When Lancelot has 50% or less of his units remaining, increases all damage and march speed.

Upgrade Preview:
Damage Bonus: 2% / 4% / 7% / 10% / 15%
March Speed Bonus: 2% / 4% / 7% / 10% / 15%.

Battle of Sorrow is somewhat a decent passive skill as it increases march speed and damage by 15% when below 50% army strength.

Because Lancelot isn’t something that you will command in the late game. It makes sense to have a cookie cutter that works well with Lancelot for various purposes — especially in PvP battles and field battles. Below is our recommended talent build for Lancelot.

Best Lancelot Talent Build Rise of Kingdoms

This is one of the best talent build since it focuses on maximizing damage that the troops does under Lancelot’s leadership. Furthermore, it builds resistance against enemy movement effects as well as boosting the overall march speed. Which lets you get across the map quickly with Lancelot. A good early choice for preventing your enemies from growing in the beginning of game.

Lancelot will always fill in the role as a secondary commander. Therefore, it’s best to use him early in the game to take the leading advantage before replacing with better quality commanders.

Best Primary Commander Pairs


Lancelot all by himself is weak. So, you will want to pair him with decent commanders to take advantage of bonuses like improved attack, defense and march speed. In addition to active damage skills that Epic commanders comes with. In this section, we share the best primary commanders to pair with Lancelot.

Belisarius

Belisarius Commander ROK

One of the best primary commander to pair with is Belisarius. He has the same skill set as Lancelot does, but a lot better. With core focus on mobility and damage, he brings cavalry bonuses that boosts defense and march speed.

When he uses his active skill, enemy troops attack and defense is reduced by 30%. Which allows this combo to swoop in for quick kills. Lancelot’s skills proves to be invaluable to early rushes when in conjunction with Belisarius’ skills.

Pelagius

If you are looking for a commander that will transform your forces into a tanky combo. Pelagius is a solid pick because he brings 10% bonus to cavalry defense and attack. Plus he builds rage at an accelerated pace which definitely helps Lancelot dish out more damage.

Pelagius is equipped with a self-healing ability which recovers some of the injured units. It is one of the main reason why is he widely preferred commander early in the game.

Baibars

Baibars Commander Rise of Kingdoms

Another good cavalry commander to pair with is Baibars. Unlike the first two recommended primary commanders, Baibars comes with an active skill which slows down enemy targets’ movement. And he can hit up to 5 targets at the same time.

When paired with him, cavalry gain 20% attack bonus. Whenever you leave the battle, troops are healed for a small portion and march speed is increased by 40%. A stellar combo if you want to take advantage of lighting fast movement while hindering enemy movements.

Minamoto

Best Minamoto no Yoshitsune Commander ROK

A good legendary commander to also pair is Minamoto. He is one of the easiest legendary commander to get via purchasing the VIP pack or in the Gems Store. He is also obtainable via chest and events. So, if you are looking for a solid legendary cavalry commander to pair with, Minamoto will make a great pairing due to his already powerful direct damage factor.

His troops also will be able to benefit from the damage bonus when the total army strength falls below 50%. Which means Minamoto will be able to kill neutral units and enemy armies with ease while mitigating incoming attacks.

Cao Cao

Cao Cao Commander ROK

Lastly, pairing with Cao Cao is a force to be reckoned with. Cao Cao comes with a passive skill that have a chance to restore rage by 100 whenever the troops performs a normal attack. This helps Lancelot a lot by being able to dish out more damaging active skill.

In addition to that, Cao Cao heals troops which improves total army’s survivability and defenses throughout the battle. The 40% attack reduction and 10% march speed reduction is also helpful that makes it possible and easy to this combo
