Joan of Arc is the starting commander for France. She is one of the easiest commander to start with primarily for players who wants to be able to gather and haul in ton of resources early in the game. Thanks to her built-in passive skills and flexible talent tree, she fills in any role from gatherer to support to PvP commander.

If you don’t have Joan of Arc as your starting commander, you will need to gather 10 Joan of Arc Sculptures. Once you have the required materials, navigate to the Commander Selection tab on the lower right corner. Tap on the button to summon Joan of Arc. She comes with a base power of 600 and skills in Integration, Gathering and Support,

Divine Revelation
Rage Requirement: 1000
In the next 2 seconds, Joan of Arc grants her own troops and nearby friendly forces a powerful buff that increases infantry units’ health, increases cavalry units’ defences, increases archer units’ attack, and grants additional rage per second.Upgrade Preview:
Infantry Health Bonus: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30%
Cavalry Defense Bonus: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30%
Archer Attack Bonus: 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30%
Rage Restored: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 40

The Divine Revelation grants upwards to 30% bonus to infantry’s health, cavalry’s defense, and archer attack. In addition to that, 40 rage is restored per second. The duration of this active skill lats for 2 seconds. If you are rolling 3 or more armies, this active skill is amazing in addition to rage generation talent builds.

The Maid of Orléans
Increase troops’ gathering speed and increase troops’ load.

Upgrade Preview:
Gathering Speed Bonus: 5% / 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%
Troop Load Bonus: 5% / 10% / 15% / 20% / 25%

This passive skill increases the speed of gathering and allows your troop to carry more resource load. Works the best with gathering talent build and when rolling pure siege army.

Holy Refuge
Troops’ normal attack has a 10% chance to heal some of the slightly wounded units. Effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.

Upgrade Preview:
Healing Factor: 150 / 200 / 250 / 350 / 450

A small chance that your troops will get heal on a normal attack. Which is really great passive skill for keeping some of your troops alive during the battle.

Saint
Increases normal attack damage.

Upgrade Preview:
Normal Attack Damage Bonus: 10% / 13% / 16% / 20% / 25%

Saint is a must-have passive skill that increases overall normal attack by 25%. While it might not sound much of difference, the 25% damage bonus goes nicely with various troops under Joan of Arc’s leadership.

Descent of the Goddess
In the next 4 seconds, Joan of Arc grants her own troops and nearby friendly forces a powerful buff that increases infantry units’ health by 30%, increases cavalry units’ defense by 30% increases archer units’ attack by 30%, and grants an additional 50 rage per second.

Descent of the Goddess is an enhanced skill that improves existing active skill by increasing the duration of buff to 4 seconds and generating 50 rage per second. This skill helps Joan of Arc maintain a high uptime on her active skill when playing with rage generation talent builds.

For gathering resources, she can easily gather any resource by herself without the need of a secondary commander. Pelagius

Pelagius Spain Commander

Pelagius is a good secondary commander to pair with Joan of Arc for a number of reasons. He comes with the ability to deal sustained damage factor. Furthermore, he specializes in cavalry which will gain 30% bonus from Joan of Arc’s active skill.

In addition to that Pelagius adds another 15% attack and defense bonus to the horsemen that brings the total value to 45% — quite impressive for a paired commander. Whenever your troops is at low health, there’s a chance both will heal that adds slight edge to survivability. A great tank pair. Alternatively, you can roll Belisarius if you don’t have Pelagius.

Boudica

Best Boudica Commander ROK

Boudica is another excellent commander to pair with. She comes with fast rage generation ability and can reduce the enemy’s rage bar. If you ever find yourself in need of an extra hand to deal serious damage to neutral units or to get rid of enemy players, Boudica takes advantage of high direct damage and the ability to shut them off with rapid rage generation.

Alternatively, you can roll Hermann with Joan of Arc as he has similar setup to Boudica. But instead of reducing enemy player’s rage, he can keep them silence which is definitely a game changer for them and you as well.

Julius Caesar

One of the best commander to pair Joan of Arc with is Julius Caesar. When you bring both commanders together, they all gain multiplicative bonuses to all troops under their leadership. Julius Caesar reduces the enemy’s attack and defense value, while increasing your army’s attack and defense value. Ultimately, this combo helps deliver serious damage.

If you don’t have Julius Caesar in your roster, Scipio Africanus is a solid alternative choice. He plays similar to Julius Caesar and has same talent builds – which makes him one of the most popular choice for conquering enemy players.

Aethelflaed

One of popular commander to pair with is Aethelflaed if you are looking for a solid peacekeeping commander. The main reason why Joan of Arc and Aethelflaed works so well together is because of the passive skill that grants damage bonus for having 3 or more troops in an army. Which means all troops will be able to get the benefit of massive attack, defense and health bonus with Joan of Arc’s active skill.

This combo helps establish a strong, solid and deadly barbarian hunter combo. In addition to that, Aethelflaed will be able to use her active skill more often thanks to fast rage restoration rate. Just like Aethelflaed, if you do 3 or more troops under his leadership, then all troops will get damage bonus.
