Background Information

ROK Germany Civilization

Early Germany was founded as a distinct region in Central Europe and could be traced back to a legendary Roman Commander, Julius Caesar who often referred to the unconquered area east of Rhine as Germania. Which distinguished it from Gaul (Modern-day France) that the Rome Empire conquered.

Germany’s victorious battle of the Teutoburg Forest prevented the Rome Empire from annexing their land. Although, Germania Superior & Germania Inferior was established along the Rhineland.

After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, Franks conquered the West Germanic tribes. In 843, the Frank Empire was divided among Charles Martel’s heirs, the eastern part became East Francia.

Finally, Otto I became the first Holy Roman Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire to establish the medieval German State in 962 A.D.

You will have to consider the risk factors of no hospital capacity bonus nor the improved building speed. Although, Germany’s traits are one of the most resilient bonuses which means they work great for early, middle and late games.

Trait 2

Cuts down the time it takes to train your troops (infantry, archers, cavalry and siege units) by 5%. This bonus is amazing throughout all the ages, especially when the time it takes to train T5 units becomes time-consuming.

Trait 3

Increases your Action Points Recovery by 10%. This trait is a lot stronger than what China has, making Germany a popular choice for battling barbarians.

Best Germany Tips & Tricks

Keep it in your mind that Germany is an offensive civilization which means you are going to want to make the most use out of their traits when attacking and training. Tip 1: Use Cavalry-Only Commanders

As mentioned previously, Germany gives a 5% attack bonus to cavalry and that stacks well with cavalry commanders. Solid trait for mobilizing powerful cavalry rushes.

Tip 2: Keep Training

The 5% troops training speed bonus is a nice perk. So, to keep ahead of your competitors, keep training your troops and make the most use out of Germany’s reduced troops training timer. This bonus becomes stronger as you start training T4 / T5 units.

Tip 3: Group Barbarians to Extend Action Points

Of course, the 10% action points recovery is great and a must-have trait for attacking barbarians. But did you know that you can extend your Action Points pool by grouping up barbarians? This method can be done with commanders like Aethelflaed who have AoE damaging skill. If you have her, use her to group barbarians to kill more without having to spend more Action Points. Works great with Germany’s speedy AP recovery.
